Speckled Mug Workshop
Join us for another clay workshop! We will be making Ceramic Speckled Mugs! You will learn the basics of working with clay, sculpting the clay, and texturing clay. Amanda Eedle and Adriana Lemus will guide you through this beginning clay workshop.
The $45 fee includes speckled clay, all materials to use during the workshop, instruction by experienced ceramic artists, and a glass of wine!
Amanda Eedle Bitetti is an art teacher and ceramicist in our community that has brought her instruction to the station. She moved from New York 2 years ago after competition of her M.A from Columbia University and B.F.A from Syracuse University. Aside from her teaching profession, Amanda maintains her own company, Lavender Lemon Pottery which sells primarily online.
Adriana Lemus’ work ranges from abstract to realistic pieces inspired by the figure. She works primarily in ceramic sculpture and painting and is currently working on a series of figure paintings and abstract ceramic sculptures, exploring ways to empower the female figure. Born in San Luis Obispo, CA, Adriana was raised by artistic parents. Her father’s work has been a huge inspiration for her own work. She graduated May of 2015 with a B.A. at the University of California, Berkeley. She has shown in San Luis Obispo, Oakland, and multiple times at the Worth Ryder Art Gallery at UC Berkeley.
The Station is San Luis Obispo’s oldest gas station re-imagined into a mixed use space for work, events, and a curated wine & goods shop. Wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages available throughout the two hour workshop. Guests must be 21 and over to attend this session.
Due to limited seating and high demand of workshop tickets, we have a 48 hours cancellation policy to receive a refund or reschedule. We have a workshop minimum of at least 10 people. If we need to cancel the workshop we will notify the guests at least 3 hours in advance. Either a refund can be issued or credit can be kept on file to be used at a future workshop.
“*DISCLAIMER* in this class you will be making your own pottery. The work is not mass produced and will be handmade by you. Because of the unpredictable nature of the kiln and the handmade nature of your artwork, pieces may warp or break. The artists are not responsible for remaking work. The turnaround time for work is roughly 3 to 4 weeks depending on how fast the works dry. You will also have the option for your work to be shipped.”
If you’d like to make additional pieces there will be a $30 fee. This fee will cover the cost of the the clay, glaze, and firing.
